| We have serveral opportunities available to work in agricultural field research.
Duties may including the following: -Perform field operations including planting, pollinations and harvest. -Responsible to receive and distribute seeds from and to other research sites; seed preparation, tissue sampling, testing, pollination, etc. -Plan and assist winter nurseries in seed preparation, planting, pollination, harvesting and seed shipment. -Data collection. -Overee third-party labor. -Possibly managing off-station testing including locating and contracting yield trial sites. -Possibly managing off-season nurseries or other field and/or greenhouse testing. -Operate and maintain farming equipment including tractor and combine and handle minor maintenance repairs. Qualifications: -B.S. degree in a relevant scientific discipline or equivalent years of experience. -Ability to use MS Office, especially Word and Excel, and other standard office software. -Excellent organizational skills. -Ability to work in a team and to communicate with individuals throughout the organization. -Ability and motivation to learn new technologies. -Ability to use professional concepts and company policies and procedures to solve a wide range of difficult problems in imaginative and practical ways. -Ability to work on project/products of moderate scope where analysis of data required evaluation of identifiable factors. -Ability to operate farming equipment.
