| Job Title: Director of Mental Health Services Unit: Mental Health Unit Description: Our full service Mental Health Service includes: Inpatient Mental Health Unit -- has 23 beds, we serve the adult and geriatric population. We take both voluntary and involuntary patients and treat a broad range of psychiatric disorders. We have a 4 to 1 patient/staff ratio. The Mental Health Unit staff is comprised of RN's, LPN's, Mental Health Techs, Social Workers, Occupational Therapists, and Recreational Therapists. Partial Hospital Program -- a 17 chair Day Treatment program for patients with psychiatric disorders who require more structure than outpatient counseling, yet don't need to be in the hospital. Most of the patients in this program are diagnosed with a depressive or anxiety disorder, and benefit greatly from the Monday through Friday, 9:00am to 3:00pm program. This program is staffed with a full time RN and a full time Social Worker. Patients are seen daily by a psychiatrist. Outpatient Counseling Center -- staffed with three, hospital employed psychiatrists, one therapist (LMSW), two Customer Service Associates, and a Registered Nurse. Our Mental Health Professionals treat adult and geriatric patients, as well as consultatively evaluate patients for prerequisite to having Lap Band surgery or Pain Clinic treatments. Emergency Psychiatric Services (EPS) -- A 24 hour emergency service where a psychiatric RN is available to assess all patients coming into the Emergency Center with a Mental Health need. This RN also sees patients on the medical inpatient units on a consultative basis, and facilitates transfers from other hospitals/organizations into Port Huron Hospital's Mental Health Services. Electro Convulsive Therapy (ECT) -- just another service we provide, our three, board certified psychiatrists are trained to perform this procedure. We have psychiatric Registered Nurses who also trained to assist in the procedure. ECT can be done on an inpatient or outpatient basis.
