| Kansas City-based Control Systems International (CSI) has a growing list of clients. To keep up with all the work, we need an experienced, full-time engineer to: * Engineer new process control projects from preliminary design through testing, installation, and commissioning using breakthrough technology. * Support, maintain, and upgrade existing process control installations * Work closely with clients and CSI's award-winning staff *Involvement in the project lifecycle at CSI under the direction of CSI project management. This may include: - Reading and understanding technical project requirements - Contributing to project specifications prepared by CSI - Specification and procurement of project materials - Specification and design of project drawings (not drafting) - Assembly, configuration, and testing of CSI systems - Participation in witnessed testing with other CSI employees and with CSI's customers - Assisting with system shipment - Participation in system installation, installation supervision, start up, commissioning, and site acceptance testing - Preparation of project documentation to support the activities listed above The Project Engineer is expected to develop expertise with CSI's UCOS and FUEL-FACS software products as required to complete project assignments. * The position involves domestic and international travel for start up and commissioning. Knowledge in the areas listed below is essential to success in the position; - Basic electrical and electronic principles required for electrical and controls engineering - Discrete and analog wiring methods - I/O hardware layout and panel design - Working knowledge concerning the available types of and the application of control system instrumentation - Working knowledge of motor control centers, switch gear, starter circuits, and variable speed/frequency drives - Engineering design/drawing standards including P&IDs, flow sheets, logic drawings, loop drawings, electrical one lines, etc. - Serial and network data communication standards and techniques - PC systems and software. This includes assembly and loading of PCs, use of application programs (i.e. - Microsoft Word, Excel, etc) |
