Leading the Supply Development Program in a Lean environment he/she will be responsible for all procurement and material activities including: purchasing, subcontracts, indirect materials, services procurement, warehousing, inventory planning, material projects, component and engineering stock, supplier management and forecasting activities.

Individual must possess the ability to further develop and advance professionally within the company.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. Establish and maintain an effective Supplier Development Program in a Lean environment.

2. Responsible for coordination of Engineering, Production and Procurement efforts to achieve continuous cost reduction.

3. Manage Inventory Reduction Programs in a Lean Manufacturing environment. Manage current and obsolete inventory.

4. Establish policy and guidance in leading a multi-discipline Supply Chain Management group, supporting the Company's vision, goals and objectives and aligning it with the manufacturing process for optimal cost, quality and customer satisfaction.

5. Provide leadership and guidance to the Material and Procurement functions through direct management activities. Create a highly motivated, competent, flexible work force.

6. Provide leadership and guidance to the Material and Procurement functions through continuous improvement.



7. Direct the overall execution of Material and Supply activities, ensuring on-time delivery of quality products and services, within cost, at competitive prices which meet contractual and technical performance requirements.

8. Support COO such that Production Control and Purchasing schedule material receipts in a manner consistent with maintaining material at minimum inventory levels and efficient manufacturing.

9. Support engineering material requirements to include requisition generation, new supplier development (qualifying redundant suppliers) and kitting of parts. Ensure cost, quality and delivery of product is aligned with Production.

10. Responsible for working with CFO and COO to maintain accurate inventory counts and valuation.

11. Ensure that corrective action is taken relative to Quality issues.

12. Manage inbound and outbound freight costs in Shipping; search for the most effective, economical shipping strategy.

13. Have experience with costing systems and know how to initialize and maintain parts costing.

REQUIREMENTS:


A minimum of 5 years of progressive management experience in material operations is required. Extensive experience in lean implementation as it relates to the supply chain including supplier development.

The successful candidate will have outstanding communications skills, both verbal and written, as well as, proven ability to achieve results through delegation and lead effectively in a team-based and flexible management structure.

The successful candidate will be thoroughly familiar with all budgeting processes.

A Bachelor's degree in related business is required. An advanced degree or graduate business qualification is strongly desired and APICS or equivalent certification desired.
